Michael Taylor

Michael Taylor is a commercially focused lawyer with over a decade of experience working across Australia and the United Kingdom, bringing a rare blend of private practice, in-house and international perspective to every matter he advises on.

Michael trained and began his legal career in Western Australia before relocating to London, where he qualified as a solicitor in the UK and spent several years practising in-house. During this time, he held senior legal roles including Head of Legal for two major automotive manufacturers, advising at executive level on complex commercial, regulatory and operational matters across multiple jurisdictions.

Working inside fast-moving, highly regulated global businesses gave Michael a deep understanding of how legal advice needs to work in the real world, not just from a technical perspective, but in how it supports commercial decision-making, risk management and growth. He has led negotiations on high-value commercial contracts, managed disputes, overseen compliance frameworks and partnered closely with senior leadership to help businesses operate confidently and efficiently.

Now back in Australia, Michael brings this international, in-house mindset to his legal practice, providing clients with clear, practical and commercially grounded advice. His experience on both sides of the table, as a lawyer and as a business leader, means he understands what clients need from their advisers: responsiveness, strategic thinking and solutions that actually move the business forward.

Michael’s background makes him particularly valuable to organisations operating in complex, regulated or cross-border environments, where commercial outcomes, risk and governance need to be carefully balanced.
