Rick assists clients in the areas of Commercial Litigation / Dispute Resolution and Family Law.
In addition to Rick’s wide litigation experience spanning some 35 years, he has extensive hands on business experience. Rick was involved in setting up the national Health Direct Australia and chairing it for its first 5 years on behalf of the Commonwealth, State and Territory Governments. He is intimately involved in the WA wine industry as a grape producer and as shareholder in the Cullen family winery in Margaret River.
An active member of the legal profession, Rick was a councillor of the Law Society of Western Australia for 13 years, and is a former president of the Law Society of Western Australia. He has been a member and chair of numerous legal professional committees over the years, including currently the Courts Committee, which advised the various courts on way to increase efficiency and on issues facing the courts. Rick was made a life member of the Law Society of Western Australia in 2005 for his contribution to the legal profession of WA.
With his wide corporate and legal experience, and personal approach to disputes, Rick is consistently able to see the bigger picture even in the most complex of matters, with a focus on practical and strategic solutions.
Rick's life outside the law includes tennis, gardening, playing the piano and guitar, and where possible combining these with his love of Margaret River and Bordeaux wines.
